Pryer Machine & Tool Company Chooses
City of Claremore for Manufacturing Expansion
City of Claremore/Rogers County, OK – November 23, 2004

A sign of the growing attractiveness of Claremore and the Rogers County Region as a business and corporate location, leading aerospace company Pryer Machine announced today that it plans to open a major, multi-million dollar global manufacturing center in the Claremore Business Park.

Slated for opening by next summer, the proposed 50,000 sq. ft. facility will be designed to initially house 50 workers and grow to 150 employees over the next 5 years. The company anticipates the eventual expansion of the facility to grow to 100,000 sq. ft. The company will relocate its Stretchform Operation which forms thin metallic skins for jet engine cowlings, and the Machining Operation which machines complex structural components. Pryer Machine manufactures a wide variety of components for the aerospace industry, for markets in the airline, business jet and U.S. military. “We are honored that Pryer Machine and Tool has chosen Claremore for its new, expanded operation,” said Claremore Mayor Jim Cochran. “We are pleased by the company’s decision to expand its operations to the City of Claremore, bringing with it new career opportunities for our residents. We are also convinced that the quality of this development will reflect the character of our community.”

According to Rob Melton, Chairman of the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA),” Pryer Machine is the kind of quality company our community is delighted to welcome. Pryer represents all the best of America, a local family firm which has, through integrity and innovation, grown a solid international customer base. Pryer Machine brings not just jobs to Claremore but quality jobs and amazing long term prospects. It also represents the first fruits of a whole new wave of cooperation in Claremore and Rogers County where the City of Claremore, Rogers County government, and each of their economic development arms have worked together to create a new environment that all at once make Claremore and Rogers County the happenin’ place for new business”

Michael Strotheide, Executive Director of CIEDA, said ”the announcement is a clear indication that prominent companies are being drawn to Claremore and Rogers County and understand the value of doing business here, today and into the future.”
